Handmade Face Masks
From The Philippines
As the COVID-19 pandemic struck, many communities who produce textiles began to make and promote face coverings that incorporated motifs and designs significant to their cultures. Many of these designs relate to historic textiles in the collections at the Field Museum. Working with community members who co-curate the Philippine collections at the Field Museum, Dr. Analyn Salvador-Amores from the Museo Kordilyera and CORDITEX project in the Philippines collected handmade face and head coverings from communities throughout the Philippines.
